WHAT WILL YOU DO?
We are looking for an experienced Market Development Manager to be part of our market development team for our Indonesia market. The Market Development Team takes full ownership of their markets’ performance. They are our brand advocates, constantly scouting and onboarding the best experiences for our travelers, as well as supporting our experience providers to grow their businesses.
- Build a Strong Product Selection: Bring quality providers onboard and grow them in terms of revenue, experience quality and quantity, as well as customer satisfaction.
- Develop Data-driven Strategies: Make data-backed decisions to grow your market in terms of revenue, experiences quality and quantity, as well as customer satisfaction
- Help Provider Succeed: leverage strong relationships with experience providers to uplevel product quality in terms of pricing, inventory, and content. Share best practices to support providers to deliver high quality service to our travelers
- Be Our Ambassador: Represent Pelago with a high level of integrity and knowledge and act as a resource for Providers. You will travel around Indonesia to meet with Providers as required (around 20-30% of the year)
- Drive Innovation: Work closely with internal teams across the business to identify and implement strategies and products in your markets.
- Be part of a Kick-ass Team: join us in the zero to one process where you’ll be part of the founding team to deliver results, and have a tonne of fun along the way!
WHAT EXPERTISE YOU NEED TO HAVE?
- 5+ years of business development, sales and account management experience, with a background in the travel industry, ideally in the tours and activities space
- Experienced in developing businesses and B2B partnerships in Indonesia
- Self-starter. Thrive in a fast paced environment with ambitious targets and deadlines. Embrace failures, learn from it and move on
- Analytical thinker. Comfortable making data-driven decisions and have experience using Excel, Salesforce, and data dashboards
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia to liaise with Bahasa Indonesian speaking customers. Proficiency in any other Southeast-Asian language is a plus
- Willing to travel regularly to meet with internal teams and external providers
